Deniox Onion shoes
Denoix Onion shoes were designed by Jean-Marie Denoix, DVM from France. Onion is the French term for what we refer to as a "corn" in the heel area of the horses hoof.
The Onion shoe protects the seat of corn from ground pressure. It provides more "float" to the heel area by limiting heel penetration in soft ground. For the front limb, it offers good heel support with rolling effect over the toe and collateral aspects of the foot.
Some indications for when to use this shoe are; mild clinical manifestations of prodotrochlear syndrome (navicular disease). Used in the rehabilitation of horses with deep digital flexor tendon or distal check ligament injuries.
